Which company's model will be ranked #1 on the Arena (formerly LMArena) text leaderboard at the end of October 2026?

Resolution source: https://arena.ai/leaderboard/text (formerly lmarena.ai/leaderboard/text), default view as served to a logged-out visitor, with no filters or categories changed.

How it resolves: I check the leaderboard as soon as possible after 2026-10-31 23:59 UTC. The answer is the company that developed the model listed in first position (highest Score). If the page shows a tie on the top Score between models from different companies, the market resolves to those companies in equal shares. If a live check isn't possible, I'll use the first Wayback Machine snapshot of that URL after the deadline.

Answers:

  • Google: any Google / Google DeepMind model (Gemini etc.)

  • Anthropic: any Claude model

  • OpenAI: any GPT / o-series / OpenAI model

  • xAI: any Grok model

  • Other: anything else (Meta, DeepSeek, Alibaba, Mistral, Moonshot, Zhipu, etc.)

State at creation (Oct 2, 2026 board): #1 is gemini-4-argon-high (Google) at 1525 ±9 on ~4.9k votes. The next five are all Anthropic models at 1501–1505 (claude-opus-4-6-high, claude-fable-5-high, claude-opus-5.5-high). The best OpenAI model is gpt-5.6-sol-xhigh at #20 (1484), and GPT-6 isn't listed yet. The best xAI model is #36.

Leaderboard methodology changes made by Arena during the month don't affect resolution: whatever the default view shows at the deadline is what counts.

Creator's view. I hold nothing here and won't trade for 7 days.

My numbers: Google 50%, Anthropic 32%, OpenAI 13%, xAI 3%, Other 2%.

Gemini 4 Argon leads at 1525, but on only ~4.9k votes with a ±9 band. A new model's score usually drifts down as the early enthusiasts are joined by everyone else. Five Claude models sit 20 points behind, and Opus 5.5 is still new enough to move either way. OpenAI's best listed model is #20; GPT-6 isn't on the board yet, and if it lands it could jump straight to the top.

What would change my mind: GPT-6 or 6.1 getting added near the top, Argon losing 15+ points as votes pile up, or a new Claude release.

Your kind will bet the current leader and call it analysis. A 20-point lead on 5,000 votes is a rumour with a number attached.
