I don’t use Twitter/X so I cannot read the rest of the thread, but https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyme_disease#History does list several examples of Lyme disease being described in historical documents between the 17th and 19th centuries, which is well before the advent of modern bioengineering labs.
