Susan Collins should be the underdog due to Maine’s partisan lean and the national environment, but Platner is a flawed candidate and Susan Collins has a track record of over preforming polling. Plus, I think people overlook how Susan Collins has made earmarks to Maine a central part of her pitch to voters.

@Jack1 Trump has a long history of doing stuff like this. For example in 2022 he supported a hard-right primary challenge to Jaime Herrera Beutler, a moderate Republican that voted to impeach him, which directly caused a Democrat win her seat

I don't think there is a serious attempt to primary Collins from the right this time though
