@Eliza "posts" are just a market page with no market. If you make a MC market with zero options it kind of works like this. But setting them apart and having per-user feeds of posts could be interesting. Like the loan tracking or RISK stuff would all work as Posts
@Eliza I think it would be cool if I could have some Posts related to my user profile. Or linked from my market with % syntax, etc.
@Eliza a posts-style feed/incorporation would also give a natural spot for the retweet functionality, which i think is a great option to have
@Eliza Does this qualify? It lets the author decide if they want that option available, and new answers are inserted before it

@Eliza the site already shows me the results plenty of times, before voting. I would hope it could be a built in option.
@ian how recently did you fix it? I am pretty sure I saw results before voting just today. Or yesterday. But aren't the results available via the API before voting in any case? So nothing is actually hidden, it's just annoying.
@Eliza I fixed it 2 hours ago. I think things being available via the API is fine, the vast majority of users won't see the results when they encounter the poll
@ian this is the whole principle where the openness of the site is sometimes frustrating because it means all power users have a built in advantage over casual users. Polls on the site are sometimes important for resolving a market etc.
So leveling the playing field by having a see results button that everyone can access is the basic principle I was hoping for.
@Eliza I don't think users should be able to see results until they've voted (with see results being one of the options), I'm down to enforce this over the api as well. I think it's probably a good thing that seeing results is costly and makes you lose your vote, it should help avoid groupthink.
@Eliza oh actually that could be more difficult, I thought votes were stored separate from the contract but apparently the totals are stored on the contract
@ian WELL NOW THAT I HAVE YOU HOOKED!!!!
Some other systems have options like this:
[radio selection 1]
- Show results to anyone
- Only show results after someone has voted
- Only show results after poll has closed
[radio selection 2]
- Only admins can see who votes
- Only creator and admins can see who votes
- Everyone can see who votes
@Eliza Haha, The results refactor would be too much work for the payoff, but the voter identity one is interesting. Wouldn't it be easier to generate more fraudulent voters if it was harder to inspect who's voting?
@ian Goes both ways -- there are a lot of polls I won't vote on because everyone in the entire world can see my answer.
@Eliza I feel the same way! I guess you could just decide: if you're making a market critical poll you could show everyone's votes, and otherwise hide them
@Eliza OK I figured codebuff could do most of it and just pushed these two options. I feel the 'me & admins' is too weird. We'll still have db access but that's true of every website unless they advertise it's end to end encrypted
