Update 2025-10-14 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): This market will resolve in 1 year (from market creation), regardless of whether Hasan Piker admits to shocking his dog or not by that time.
Update 2025-10-17 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): For an admission to count as valid, it must be Hasan's last public statement on the matter. If Hasan makes any subsequent post directly denying the allegations after an apparent admission, that admission will be considered invalid and will not resolve the market to YES.

@dgga I don't get why being honest about the situation requires him "admitting that he abuses his dog". The inability for nuance is really telling.
@Balasar The market says nothing about the seriousness of the admission, and should therefore resolve on any admission.
@Balasar To "admit" something implies that you're serious, a joke shouldn't count as admitting to something.
@Balasar An admission can be joking, it can also be serious. The market criteria make no discernment. Therefore any admission of any type should satisfy the market criteria.
@Balasar Of course, there is only one resolution source for the correct interpretation of words in the market: the market creator.
@Balasar "to concede as true or valid". Not sure this helps your case, seems like saying something sarcastically is the opposite of this.
@Balasar If there is any other post of him directly denying the allegations after this this clip, then it will be considered invalid. If this is his last message on the matter then I would count it as an admission.
@Mad2live I mean, it's cruel. Plenty of people beat their kids too and yet I think it's abhorrent and if a streamer did that on camera they'd probably be kicked off the platform.
@bens Good example. (excuse my ignorance) is it possible that Hasan was using a very low voltage collar? something that would be the equivalent of a tap on the butt. I am ill informed about the character of the streamer but I just think people generally love their dogs and would not do anything to hurt them. Nevertheless thanks for the reply.
@Mad2live it’s more the fact he’s obviously doing it yet lying about not doing it (outside of if he should or not!)
@Mad2live Were I live it's illegal to use them on dogs. But even if you'd use them, you should have a good reason. Forcing a dog to stay in place for 5-8 hours is not a good reason to use a shock collar.
@Mad2live Shock collars are mildly frowned on I think, but I don't think the reason is just that people love dogs. The real reason this is notable is that many people strongly dislike Hasan and want to shine the brightest light possible on any of his wrongdoings, real or perceived. (Related: It's possible for witch hunts to actually catch witches every now and again, which is not a good enough reason to do witch hunts.)
@Mad2live Beyond just the use of a shock collar another reason people find this case particularly interesting/upsetting is because of the reason he shocks the dog. It seems like he shocks the dog just because it wanted to get up and walk around, not because it was actually misbehaving. There's another clip circulating where he appears to shock the dog because it's slightly out of frame, basically treating it like a prop for his stream which feels particularly cruel.
@Alfie interesting, that use case does seem pretty bad and it matches with my prior mental model of why people would be upset. Vs a “simple” shock collar. Very interesting nonetheless
