"GM, Ford, Stellantis will not advertise during Super Bowl LVIII"

(Stellantis should include Jeep, & GM for Chevrolet?)

Obviously not 100% confirmed, as there can be surprise commercials that are kept hidden, but many car companies have signaled that they don't plan to advertise during the broadcast.

Closely related market: "Super Bowl LVIII ad duel (🚗 vs 🍺): will there be a car commercial that performs better than all beer commercials?"

Also, quick clarification question. Based on the description, I assume you're being fairly strict about what counts as the super bowl broadcast. Does that mean only national ads count? (For example, also some niche local ads play, plus I'm curious about international broadcasts, like the Univision spanish version, where the ads are totally different). Thanks for running the question!

sold Ṁ30 Hyundai NO

@Ziddletwix Also, Kia is normally referred to as its own brand, but IIUC it's technically owned by Hyundai. Would a Kia ad make Hyundai resolve YES?

Edit: actually I didn't have that quite right. Kia is only partially owned by Hyundai (<40%). So TLDR would a Kia ad make Hyundai resolve YES?

@Ziddletwix Only national ads count and I consider Hyundai and Kia as different brands.

bought Ṁ3 Hyundai NO

@OmarB Sweet thanks!
