Background

The 2025 NATO Summit will be held at the World Forum in The Hague, Netherlands from June 24-26, 2025. This will be the first summit led by new NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The summit will focus on reinforcing NATO's deterrence and defence, addressing security consequences of climate change, and strengthening the Alliance's technological innovation.

Here you can find the declaration issued by the heads of state at the end of the previous summit, which was held in Washington in July 2024.

Resolution Criteria

Each outcome will be resolved independently based on official NATO releases, Dutch government announcements, or verified media accounts.

Person <Name> attends: Resolves YES if the specified person physically attends any part of the official summit in The Hague. Attendance in any capacity counts, but virtual attendance does not count.

Defence spending target: Resolves YES if NATO officially announces during or by the end of the summit a new minimum defence spending target above 2% of GDP for member states. The implementation date of the new target is not relevant for resolution.
