Resolution criteria

Maduro was sworn in for his third term on 10 January 2025. This market resolves YES if credible reporting from major international news outlets (Reuters, AP, BBC, CNN, etc.) confirms Maduro is alive by January 10, 2026. This market resolves NO if credible reporting confirms his death before that date. Current reporting as of early January 2026 indicates Maduro remains alive, though on 3 January 2026, during the United States strikes in Venezuela, Donald Trump claimed Maduro had been captured by the United States, along with his wife.

Background

In 2024, Maduro ran for a third term in an election which the Maduro-aligned National Electoral Council claimed he won; without providing evidence. Vote tallies gathered by the opposition showed that their candidate, Edmundo González, had won the most votes. After Maduro was inaugurated for a third term on 10 January 2025, the US State Department announced that the reward against Maduro was increased from $15 million to $25 million.
