I'm thinking of using (roughly) this structure for loans, but there was some controversy over it when I brought it up in the discord. At a high level, the loan structure works as follows:
A cheap market is created (i.e. by the lender), and the loan recipient sets a limit order for the amount they will pay back at the end of the loan term
The lender fills the limit order, then sends the initial loan amount to the recipient
The recipient recoups the mana spent in the market through Manifold's loan system, over time.
When it is time to collect, the lender resolves in favor of the recipient if they paid back the loan. Otherwise, they resolve against the recipient to collect the loan from the market.
