@NathanYoung It's conceivably possible that something weird happens with the schedule for his stepping down, like some serious drama with the Conservative leadership election, or the winner of that election then for some reason fails to take leadership and he continues on as PM while they rerun it. It's very unlikely, though, so not unreasonable.
