This market resolves based on whether either the European Space Agency (ESA) or NASA officially confirms the detection of artificial (non-natural) radio signals originating from interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS before November 15, 2025.
Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb has suggested a possible connection between 3I/ATLAS and the 1977 'Wow!' signal, and has advocated for radio telescope observations of the object. While most astronomers consider 3I/ATLAS to be a natural comet, the possibility of it being technological in nature has been raised.
Resolution criteria: This market resolves to YES if either NASA or ESA issues an official statement, press release, or peer-reviewed scientific paper confirming the detection of artificial radio signals (defined as structured, non-random signals that cannot be explained by natural processes) from 3I/ATLAS before November 15, 2025. It resolves to NO if no such confirmation is made by that date, or if NASA/ESA explicitly state that no artificial signals were detected. Unconfirmed reports, speculation, or claims not officially endorsed by NASA or ESA do not count for resolution.
