Washington DC police reported carjackings 900 and 901 on Thanksgiving Day. This market will resolve YES if official DC police statistics report 1,000 or more carjackings in 2023. It will resolve NO if reported carjacking offenses are 999 or less.
Please keep in mind:
1) this question closes on December 31st but will resolve on January 3rd.
2) this question is about DC government statistics on carjackings. News stories and accounts of unreported carjackings are irrelevant.

@SirCryptomind Yes, but per the criteria I'm going to resolve on Jan 3rd. There can be a lag in the system updating which is why I created that buffer between close and resolution. I understand it will be next to impossible to hit 1K but I am going to follow through on the Jan 3rd resolution as stated. I am sincerely sorry about needlessly tying up everyone's mana for an extra two days but I will resolve this per criteria set out when I created the market.

The 10 suspects are believed to be involved in two separate carjacking rings in D.C., authorities said: The teens, who are being charged as adults, are allegedly responsible for at least 15 vehicle thefts and held victims at gunpoint, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, Matthew Graves, said at a news conference.
When the pilot program first launched at the beginning of November, MPD officials advised residents to put the trackers in their vehicles to make it easier to recover if they are stolen.
