The DEA (under the Department of Justice) deals with drug schedules, typically reserving them for addictive drugs which pose health risks.
RFK Jr., the new Health and Human Services secretary, has been (baselessly) claiming that antidepressants are addictive and cause violent behavior. Trump's administration has been taking a very shoot-first-and-ask-questions-later approach, and has been on a tear firing lifelong government employees who stand in the way.
With this in mind, will any SSRI drug be listed on the DEA's list of controlled substances before Trump leaves office?
