The NYT said in a filing that it seeks to hold Microsoft and OpenAI to account for the “billions of dollars in statutory and actual damages” it believes it is owed.
Resolves yes if we learn that the NYT gets at least 1 billion dollars due to the lawsuit whether from judgement, settlement, etc. If they get an undisclosed amount, this can still resolve yes if it's reliably reported as being in that order of magnitude.
If we don't learn about them getting any money from the lawsuit by 2026, or they settle for a completely undisclosed amount, this resolves No.
In any cases of ambiguity, this market will resolve based on the spirit of the question. I will not trade in this market.
