The issue is the way the search UI modifies your search filter state as you navigate to and from the search UI. It somewhat randomly modifies or resets certain filters while leaving others along, which I find very confusing. I painstakingly explained the issue and seemed to get broad agreement that this could be fixed (back to the old, simple normal working state), yet months go by and unfortunately the change isn't made yet.
This market is about whether this product change will be made in the next 6 months until end of March (Q1) 2025.
The issue has been going on for multiple years, but has been clearly described and a solution has been agreed upon: copy the known, working well, expected, natural, and functional behavior, and get rid of attempting to second guess or manipulate the user experience in ways that they can't expect. At the very least, if you are going do to nonstandard things which users don't like & complain about, then have some rationale or data to back it up, and be willing to meet resistance, disagreements, complaints, requests for investigation or change with a proper response, not simply ignoring all inputs even past the point of accepting that you are wrong, and yet still have not reverted the change which broke the feature behavior in the first place.
