Resolution criteria
This market resolves to YES if, between October 7, 2026, and January 20, 2029, President Donald J. Trump signs into law legislation that allocates at least $10 billion in dedicated federal funding specifically for artificial intelligence (including "Super Intelligence" or "SI") research, development, procurement, or compute infrastructure.
The funding can be allocated for a single fiscal year or as part of a multi-year program, provided the total legislated amount explicitly designated for AI/SI is at least $10 billion.
Key Definitions and Sources:
Dedicated AI Funding: The legislative text or accompanying committee reports must explicitly designate the funds for artificial intelligence, machine learning, super intelligence, or related compute/data infrastructure (e.g., "Sovereign AI Infrastructure"). General defense, science, or technology appropriations that do not specify AI/SI do not count toward the $10 billion threshold.
Source of Truth: Official legislative texts and public laws published on Congress.gov or official White House press releases and signing statements.
Timing: The bill must be signed into law after October 7, 2026, and on or before January 20, 2029. Funding commitments enacted prior to October 2026 (such as the FY 2026 appropriations) do not count toward this threshold.
If no such legislation meeting these criteria is signed into law by January 20, 2029, this market will resolve to NO.
Background
During his second term, President Trump has heavily prioritized the development of artificial intelligence, formally rebranding federal initiatives around the term "Super Intelligence" (SI) via executive order. Early in his term, he revoked the Biden-era AI regulations through Executive Order 14179 to emphasize deregulation, infrastructure investment, and global dominance.
The administration has championed massive AI initiatives, such as the Department of Energy's "Genesis Mission". Furthermore, the administration's FY 2027 federal budget requests included a proposed $46 billion allocation for "Sovereign AI Infrastructure" within the Department of War (formerly the Department of Defense). This market tracks whether these proposed funding requests are successfully enacted into law by Congress and signed by President Trump.
