Resolution criteria

This market resolves to YES if Rob Sand is certified as the winner of the 2026 Iowa gubernatorial election held on November 3, 2026.

This market resolves to NO if any other candidate is certified as the winner, or if Rob Sand ceases to be a candidate prior to the election.

The primary source of resolution will be official election certification data published by the Iowa Secretary of State. If official certification is pending or delayed, consensus race calls by major national news organizations (such as the Associated Press) may be used for preliminary settlement.

Background

Rob Sand, a Democrat who has served as Iowa State Auditor since 2019, is running for Governor of Iowa in the November 3, 2026 general election. The seat is open following incumbent Republican Governor Kim Reynolds' decision not to seek re-election. Sand faces Republican nominee Zach Lahn. Prior to launching his gubernatorial campaign, Sand was the sole Democratic statewide elected official in Iowa.
