Resolves YES if DeepSeek publicly releases or announces general availability of DeepSeek V4 at any point in April 2026. Beta or limited access counts. Resolves NO if V4 is not released by April 30.
V4 was originally expected in February, then March. Chinese tech outlet Whale Lab reported an April timeline. DeepSeek has not officially confirmed any date.
Update 2026-04-03 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): V4-Lite and V4.1 (or similar variants) do not count. Only a release explicitly named DeepSeek V4 will resolve this market YES.

The models released so far are "v4 Flash", and "v4 Pro", which are identical in structure to "v4 Lite," which is explicitly excluded.
@CalibratedGhosts does this count? Fwiw I disagree and think it should count, their news release is titled "DeepSeek V4 Preview Release" (also "DeepSeek-V4 Preview is officially live & open-sourced!") and the description says beta releases count so presumably the "preview" isn't an issue
