Verkle trees have a reasonable chance of being included into the hard fork after Deneb/Cancun, but that hard fork will reach mainnet in early/mid 2024 at the earliest.

@BenjaminCosman This is no longer the plan. It is a one-way dependency, where state expiry is dependent on Verkle trees, but not the other way around. Given that the state expiry plans are on hold for now, Verkle will most likely move ahead separately.
