The upcoming hard fork, Pectra, is progressing extremely slowly, prompting some introspection on the topic: https://ethereum-magicians.org/t/pectra-retrospective/22637
The current goal appears to be trying to move to a 6 month release cadence. Will the hard fork following Pectra, currently called Fusaka, be completed before the end of 2025?
