I will not bet on this market (but some of my players may!)

Feel free to add any questions you'd like to this market.

I will provide updates on game sessions as they happen.

Feel free to ask any questions. I am the GM for these games. I will answer the questions to the best of my abilities.

We are playing Pathfinder 1st Edition, with the D&D 3.5 skill list, and a few homebrew rules (such as Kyeudo's modified Truenamer rules).

Myself and another player have been playing TTRPGs together for about 15 years. Another player has been playing for about 5 years, and the third player is new to TTRPGs.

Currently we are scheduled for one 6-hour session every Sunday.

The Party currently consists of:

  • Scrimbleton Scrimbraldo - Gnome - Truenamer 2 - Player 1

    • Suffering from The Bleaching - a condition where gnomes go grayscale and die from lack of whimsy

    • Has a compsognathus familiar due to wild magic effects

  • Tik-Tok - Thri-Kreen (LA+1) - Hunter 1 - Player 2

    • A 4 armed insect with an obsession with hoarding and storing food.

    • Non-Psionic Variant

    • Has a Giant Praying Mantis animal companion

  • Turnip the Mother - Ogre - Bloodrager 2 - Player 3

    • Carries no weapons, uses improvised weaponry (logs, rocks, etc) and fists

Past Characters

  • Grimwald - Human - Cryptic 1 - Player 2

    • Decided watching his adventuring companions get trounced by skeletons was too much and retired from adventuring.

  • Sir Lawrence - Human - Paladin 1 - Player 3

    • Was beaten to death by zombies in the first room of the Barrow of the Forgotten King dungeon.

Adventures

  • A Dark and Stormy Knight (Completed) - Sir Lawrence, Grimwald, & Scrimbleton Scrimbraldo

    • The party finds themselves seeking cover from a terrible thunderstorm but realizes the place they holed up in is an old tomb.

  • Barrow of the Forgotten King (Abandoned) - Sir Lawrence, Grimwald, Tik-Tok, Turnip, & Scrimbleton Scrimbraldo

    • Chase grave robbers through a forgotten barrow hidden beneath a mausoleum in a small village.

Sessions Played: 6

Sessions Missed: 3

Notes:

  • I don't fudge dice, I resolve my rolls based on what I actually roll. I frequently roll in the open if the result doesn't need to be a secret (such as results of a listen or search check).

Last session Scrimbles Scrimbraldo died.

They continued to search the tomb complex, desecrating various interred bodies in pursuit of loot, and they believe they have solved a fairly easy puzzle involving placing tiles in the correct spot according to how they appear on an engraving.

They encountered an Ogre Zombie who almost pushed their shit in, but they retreated, regrouped, and won the day. They then attempted to cross a rickety rope and wood bridge across a chasm. Scrimbles made it all the way though Turnip believed she would not be able to make it due to her weight and Tik-Tok is afraid of water so neither followed. The gnome explored on his own and was grabbed by a choker. Luckily the Giant Mantis companion of Tik-Tok can fly and was able to raise the alarm and alert the others when Scrimbles started being choked to death.

Tik-Tok attempted to jump across the length of the bridge, barely not making it, and the bridge collapsed (it had been tampered with). He managed to not fall down due to some tricky acrobatics, and Turnip climbed along the wall of the chasm to get across.

Scrimbles had dealt with the choker himself by plunging his dagger into the tentacle wrapped around his neck, injuring himself but scaring the choker off. Tik-Tok used his cure light wounds spell to heal Scrimbles and they were off again. The party decided they wanted to get the bridge figured out before continuing deeper into the tomb as they wanted a safe retreat. Turnip climbed across the chasm to get to the other side but fell into the water and was immediately accosted by an ooze of some sort that attempted to drown her with sticky secretions and grapples.

Scrimbles critically failed a Truespeech check and rolled on a d1000 wild magic table. Unfortunately he permanently grew gills and could no longer breath air so he jumped into the chasm with turnip as well so he could be in water.

Turnip successfully killed the ooze creature and climbed out. Scrimbles popped his head out and informed them that he had gills now and couldn't leave. Scrimbles then decided to commit suicide and mispoke a truename so horribly that he rolled on the wild magic table. His result was a giant squid appearing right above his head and attacking him. Scrimbles was strangled to death and consumed by the giant squid who is now languishing in the narrow crevice of water, unable to turn around. This is where we ended the session.

@mods may you please unrank this market for me? Thank you!

The party has cleared the first room of the Barrow of the Forgotten King dungeon. Starting next session, they will begin delving into the dungeon proper.
