In 2024 the City of LA established a charter reform commission to recommend updates to the charter which will be voted on in the 2026 November ballot. https://reformlacharter.lacity.gov/about-commission
The commission is meeting regularly between now and then. Many people have criticized the timeline as being too fast.
Logistics:
All questions resolve at the end of 2026 unless otherwise stated. I will participate in objective markets, but will stay out of any that are subjective. Feel free to add more options and I'll try to adhere to the authors criteria. I'll probably N/A liberally if I can't figure out how to resolve.
Unless otherwise stated, predictions are based on the outcome of the election, so if the commission proposes a thing and it gets voted down, that would count as "no".
Question specific clarification:
No change to the charter: This is limited to changes that originate in this commission. If charter amendments are passed via other means, they won't count.
