Background (all figures as of mid September 2026): Tesla launched its purpose built Cybercab (two seats, no steering wheel, no pedals) in Austin, Texas on September 3, 2026, with 45 Cybercabs registered in Texas DMV autonomous vehicle records. That count stood at 49 as of September 8, 2026. Cybercab rides are currently offered in Austin only, and Tesla's Robotaxi support page says Cybercab will serve additional areas "in the future" without naming a city or a date. At the launch event Tesla did not name a second Cybercab city, did not give an expansion calendar, and did not disclose a volume production or consumer sale date. On September 3, 2026, NHTSA opened Audit Query AQ26002 into Tesla's self certification that the Cybercab meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, with an estimated affected population of about 1,000 Cybercabs. This market takes no position on whether any of that is good or bad. It asks only about a number. This market resolves YES if, at any point on or before December 31, 2026 (11:59 PM US Central Time), the number of distinct purpose built Tesla Cybercab vehicles registered or authorized for Tesla's public, fare paying robotaxi service in any US jurisdiction reaches 200 or more. Otherwise it resolves NO. Counting rules: 1. Only the purpose built Cybercab counts. Model Y, Model 3, or any other Tesla operating in the Robotaxi service does NOT count toward the 200. 2. A vehicle counts if it appears in a state motor vehicle or autonomous vehicle registration or authorization record for Tesla's public robotaxi operations (today this is primarily the Texas DMV record set that trackers and news outlets report on). Counts are cumulative across all US states, not Texas only. 3. Vehicles used solely for display, auto shows, press events, closed course testing, employee only shuttling, or the Cybercab Japan Tour do NOT count. 4. The vehicles do not have to be in more than one city, do not have to be individually requestable by riders, and do not have to be operating without a safety monitor. Registration for public robotaxi service is the only bar. Resolution sources, in priority order: (a) an official Tesla statement, shareholder deck, or 10-Q/10-K giving a Cybercab fleet or registration count, (b) state government records (Texas DMV autonomous vehicle/robotaxi registration data, or the equivalent in another state) as reported by a credible outlet such as Reuters, Bloomberg, Electrek, Teslarati, TeslaNorth, or Not a Tesla App, (c) a public Cybercab specific tracking dashboard such as robotaxitracker.com. If credible sources disagree, the highest Cybercab specific figure from a source in the highest available priority tier governs. If no source in any tier reports a Cybercab specific count of 200 or more on or before the deadline below, this resolves NO. Resolution deadline: January 15, 2027. This is the date by which the December 31, 2026 fleet count is expected to be confirmed and reported, based on the roughly weekly reporting lag observed in Texas DMV data since the Cybercab's launch. This market closes on January 20, 2027 (5 days after the resolution deadline) to allow time for confirming data to be reported.
