A recent paper presents evidence that lithium deficiency may be a cause of Alzheimer's. See also Derek Lowe's thoughts on the paper.

This market resolves YES if, before the resolution date, the Wikipedia page for Alzheimer's describes lithium supplementation as partially or completely reversing symptoms for at least some subset of Alzheimer's patients, where that subset is >10,000 patients.

To prevent vandals from altering the Wikipedia page to win this market, the Wikipedia page must contain such a description continuously for at least 4 weeks. The Wikipedia page doesn't need to directly mention the number of patients receiving supplementation as long as I can infer from Wikipedia or other sources that it's likely >10,000.

Would a slowdown in decline count?

I read the paper and found it interesting, but for the purposes of this question, note that evidence of improvement with lithium supplementation doesn't imply that deficiency causes Alzheimer's. Lithium does all kinds of stuff.
