The White House announced $500 refunds for nearly 1 million people in 30 states who bought ACA/Obamacare coverage through the federal Marketplace without receiving premium assistance.
The administration says the refunds come from surplus Marketplace user fees that were incorporated into insurance premiums.
“The White House said checks to eligible Americans will begin going out in October.”

Resolves YES if, by 11:59 PM ET on Oct. 31, 2026, the federal government or credible major reporting confirms that at least some of these $500 payments have actually been mailed, electronically transmitted, or otherwise sent to recipients.
NO otherwise.

Announcements, authorizations, or plans to send the payments do not count.
Recipients do not need to have received or deposited the money by the deadline so long as it has been sent.
