Marwan Hasib Ibrahim Barghouti is a Palestinian political figure convicted and imprisoned for murder by an Israeli court. He is regarded as a leader of the First and Second Intifadas. He is serving multiple life sentences, and is still a popular political figure from within prison. During the Israel–Hamas war in February 2024, Hamas called for Barghouti's release.
