The whole Universe is likely infinite, which means that it's bound to contain other life.

Would also be interesting to ask whether life (will) exist in our light cone.

@OlegEterevsky I wonder if the responses to a poll specifically talking about the finite observable universe would go. It’s an oversight on my part not specifying what type of universe, lol.

It seems plausible that there's no other intelligent life in the observable universe, but the universe is likely to be vastly larger than the portion we can observe, and may be infinite.

I’d go so far as to say that something “non-intelligent” may have existed at some point in the universe. But is long dead, or not born yet.
