It got *much* better than I expected, but it's still unreliable and not comparable to a human programmer for longer or uncommon tasks.

In real development you spend much more time designing architecture and debugging than writing code and AI is not great at those tasks at the moment.

This isn't true for the models I can cheaply access; it might be true for the really high-end stuff.
