@cos Can no longer find it, but I remember someone from Manifold saying that was just because it was the funniest one for April Fools? I feel like Foldy is the most practical one that ends up getting used if anything.

What's the idea behind the mascot? What does origami have to do with prediction markets?

Haha that was one part of it! Other reasons: 1. "manifold" means "many; varied; multitude" in English parlance which fits with our mission of making a bajillion prediction markets 2. "manifold" has vague mathematical connotations about something something dimensional space something 3. If you're a good trader, you'll earn a "many-fold" return on investment ;)

To be clear, I chose "Foldy McFoldface" for the April Fools newsletter because it seemed funniest, not necessarily because I think we should coordinate on it. Though: I do personally like "Foldy" with an in-joke last name of McFoldface~

Foldy/Foldy McFoldFace currently own 46% of marketshare. Additionally, the MM newsletter mentioned the name in their recent email about a mana shortage: "Start an OnlyFans and post exclusive photos of our mascot, Foldy McFoldface." In the original text I set resolution upon "heavy consensus" or EOY. Any thoughts on the state of this question?
