YES

AIME describes the American Invitational Mathematics Examination. AMC (American Mathematics Competition) 10 has A and B; they have different "cutoffs", or the minimum amount of points to qualify for AIME. The question asks if the lowest of the two would be 90+ or 90-.

YES - 90+ cutoff.

NO - 90 cutoff or lower.

@mods resolves YES

@mana got a link?

@Stralor from what I can tell Aime has 10A, 10B, 12A, and 12B. The 10s are above 90, but the 12s are below. The title implies both are included but the description mentions 10s (as an example? unclear). Since the 12s funnel into the USAMO but the 10s only funnel into the USAJMO and as an outsider the USAMO appears to be the more prestigious of the two YES feels like a misresolve.

I'm sure this will ruffle feathers but I'm resolving NO.

@Stralor sorry I didn't see your first comment. This definitely resolves YES, as "lowest of the two" implies lowest of the 10A or 10B, which is why they were mentioned and not the 12 (and the creator emphasized how the 10 has two different cutoffs). USAMO being more "prestigious" doesn't make a difference as it's not significantly more popular, just harder for older people.

@mana right but the question asks about AIME A & B, not AIME 10 A or B. You can see how the description reads like an example, right?

@Stralor to me the description reads as context. "AIME A/B" is never used as it means nothing. "The question asks if the lowest of the two would be 90+ or 90-" seems to disambiguate because there are multiple cutoffs, and I don't think each of the "two" would refer to another two tests each (would be rather confusing), rather than just saying "the lowest of the four".

@mana alright. I dont wanna make this a big fight. it's a poorly made market and I'll just concede the issue today since the market value seems to agree

you should resolve this the cutoffs came out
