Positives:

  1. "It does seem significantly better than the Humane AI Pin, now, that is a very low bar to clear, but, it's consistent, it's consistently quicker."

  2. Gives summary of articles when you point it at a screen.

  3. "Bright Orange, quirky, friendly looking device."

  4. "..costs $200, and no subscritptions, ok.., that hits a little different."

  5. LAM is a really really cool ideal.

  6. Version Promised few years from now is amazing,but....(Negative 14)

  7. $200 bucks seems like an easier gamble to make on the off chance that it may be better in a couple years.

Negatives:

  1. Recognizing with vision to be completely wrong than what it is.

  2. Battery life is just as bad as humane pin, and it'd brutally bad. You have to charge it multiple times per day. "Also it took 45 minutes to charge this tiny battery from 0 to a 100."

  3. "Cant set alarms, cant set timers., cant record videos, cant record photos, cant send emails, there is no calendar built in. There's just a lot of things that i want an assistant to do, that are just not here."

  4. "..It does still hallucinate and confidently answer questions wrong."

  5. "... [The Scroll Wheel]" is actually really frustrating to use.". Sensitivity low on scroll wheel. No haptic feedback. Also no back button.

  6. They dont let you use the touchscreen despite it being a touch screen.

  7. "You can tell it's 200 dollars." Very Basic Camera. Very Cheap Speaker.

  8. You will need a separate SIM card to keep it functional.

  9. No charging brick or cable. No manual.

  10. TFT Screen with no auto-brightness.

  11. It has only 4 apps and they kinda work.

  12. 800 apps, Teach Mode, Gen UI features still in works, not available right now.

  13. Unfinished Product. Apex of a Horrible Trend.

  14. Version delivered right now is dog water.

@notarealuser I think this fairly resolves NO. If anyone has any objections or would like to present arguments against it, I will hold the resolution for 12 hours.

New? We've had LLMs gaslighting us, and us gaslighting LLMs as soon as they came out!

Pulling out of the market because I'm unsure how it'll resolve.

The likely video sentiment will be mixed (I think as we all assume). Something like “cool first try, has some nice touches & ideas. In a few years it might be good, today it's not something most should buy.“

Would this be a “positive“ or “negative“ sentiment for you @notarealuser?

He will probably say both things:

  • Good that somebody is trying in cool ways

  • Bad that, today, it's not there yet, and most people should not buy it

This might be extremely hard to resolve. Will it just be vibe based? But is it based on “should people buy this or not“ or “do I, Marques, subjectively like that they did this project or not“. These two resolution possibilities almost certainly will be at odds.

@JonathanMannhart "it's not something most should buy" would lean towards negative. "cool that someone is trying new" is not a compliment to the product but to the team. "it's not there yet" definitely negative. what you have described is definitely a negative sentiment, judging solely the product outside the context of how new the tech is.

Definite Positive - "This product has X unique things it can do",

"If you have extra [price of the product] to spend , you should buy it" (not necessarily a buy recommendation but better than no one should buy it)

bought Ṁ100 NO from 20% to 18%

@notarealuser Cool, thank you. Quite clear answer on the criteria!

Things not looking ideal:

@notarealuser

Tbf the first two video reviews were shockingly positive (iJustine and Unbox Therapy). I don't think either are great reviewers personally, but it was very much more positive to what one would have expected imo.
