I just don't see how they do anything that a standard smart phone/watch can't do better. Who would want to walk around in public reciting and listening to every single private message they send and receive? Or having to verbalize every single web search? And listening in on everyone else doing the same? Maybe some sort of interface that connects to an actual phone with a screen could work, but smart watches already do that in a more convenient way.

@kapperud My steelman attempt: There are many use cases where you might watn to ask an AI about something in the real world that is right infront of you. Like if there are complicated parking hours you can just ask: "Am I allowed to park here right now for 2 hours?". Or you can open the fridge and ask "What could I cook". Or you could ask it for navigation. All hands free without having to take out your phone. Of course I am not actually sold by this idea, but I think I see the merit.

@nic_kup Those are good points, but I still think it would have to be connected to a device with a screen. Screens let you view images and videos and private correspondence without anyone listening in. I don't see them going away anytime soon. I can see the use case for a device that lets you control your phone with your voice when your hands are busy, but to me it seems much more convenient to have it on your wrist than on your chest. So basically a smart watch.

@kapperud I will just say that the humane pin kinda has a screen with its weird laser projector thing. But it doesnt seem to be very good and you wouldn't really want to read from it.
