Since Ai has been described as the space race of the digital era, as a non-American, I'm curious how Americans may compare to such a hotly debated topic in their politics, to the original space race.

It might have been as important but, unlike abortion, it wasn't particularly controversial.

@ProjectVictory yes you are probably right, but I did hear there was some opposition on the cost of the space race at the time, due to people wanting it to be spent on other government endeavours such as civil rights.
