the Ontario government introduced legislation on Oct. 21 to remove bike lanes on Bloor Street, University Avenue and Yonge Street
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/report-cost-removal-bike-lanes-toronto-1.7382626
This market will resolve YES if bike lanes are actually physically removed from at least one of those three streets, under Doug Ford due to this specific piece of legislation.
This market will resolve NO if 2025 ends with no bike lanes removed, or if Doug Ford admits defeat and cancels Bill 212 in some way with no stated intent to introduce a similar bill.
Update 2025-07-30 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Following a court decision against the bike lane removal, the creator has stated they will wait until the end of 2025 to resolve this market, unless a YES resolution is triggered sooner.

Looks like the bike lane removal was defeated in court https://bsky.app/profile/jm-mcgrath.bsky.social/post/3lv73dwmihs26
@Seanny123 great news! It now seems like my resolution criteria was poorly written. To be fair, I will wait until the end of 2025 to resolve this.
@makeworld yeah, they can always just re-submit a slightly rephrased legislation and remove the bike lanes anyways https://bsky.app/profile/damienmoule.bsky.social/post/3lv77m3s2ks2d
Injunction granted. Removal paused until it is decided whether the removal is constitutional or not https://www.thestar.com/politics/ontario-ordered-to-pause-toronto-bike-lane-removal-until-charter-case-decided/article_78fbb610-8da9-5169-84d2-a97a90a4b48b.html
Injunction failed. Could be removed in March. Still a court case happening in April. https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/doug-fords-removal-of-toronto-bike-lanes-can-start-next-week-court-rules/article_beb50db4-ff47-11ef-bc58-8bceb64c3df3.html
@Seanny123 removal in March seem unlikely? Not sure.
The government may only begin removing the bike lanes on April 27, 2026, according to a draft schedule in the released emails.

@makeworld I missed this, but what made you change your mind? You think it was an election play and now that the Conservatives lost that riding there won't be any willingness to follow through?
@Seanny123 some of it is vibes but the Cycle TO court case gives me hope. I think there's a lot of pushback and Ford is a populist above all else. Also seems low priority now. I haven't looked into what's happened recently if anything though.
@makeworld the last update I saw were the Bloor businesses also suing for damages, which vibes-wise seemed to be an indication the lanes weren't being removed https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/etobicoke-businesses-lawsuit-bloor-bike-lanes-1.7469034
