Resolution criteria

• YES: The total number of trips (annual ridership) recorded by Bike Share Toronto during the calendar year 2027 is strictly greater than the highest annual ridership recorded in any single calendar year prior to 2027 (including 2025 and 2026).

• NO: The total number of trips in 2027 is equal to or less than the previous historic annual record.

• Primary Source of Truth: Data from the City of Toronto Open Data Portal (Bike Share Toronto Ridership Data) or official announcements on Bike Share Toronto will be used.

• If no official ridership data for 2027 is published by June 30, 2028, the market will resolve as N/A.

Background

• Bike Share Toronto, operated by the Toronto Parking Authority (TPA), has seen massive growth over the past decade, climbing from roughly 665,000 trips in 2015 to a record-setting 7.8 million trips in 2025.

• System growth has been heavily accelerated by fleet electrification and dock expansion under the TPA's "2030 Growth Strategy". However, financial documents and draft budgets indicate that the TPA expects annual ridership growth rates to begin to stabilize as the network matures.

• A bunch of bike lanes are supposed to be removed next year
