I think that you should have made a market instead on a slightly less politically radioactive topic, like the Jewish-white gap or male variability.

1 IQ point is so small, even this effect https://twitter.com/RichardHanania/status/1724890161228685463 would cause such a thing, under the assumption that there were 0 genetic differences in the 1970s.

This study from the late 1970s https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0160289682900022?via%3Dihub would predict that the gap would increase by 0.8 points per generation. It's been >1.25 generations since the late 1970s, even if a generation is 35 years.

Conditional on there not being such a difference now, it's very likely there was a difference in favor of black people in the past.
