In Unfortunately, I Was Right, uploaded June 10, 2026, ThePrimeagen predicted that users would be able to donate part of their AI-token budgets to open-source projects so those projects could pay for AI-powered CI and other tools.

Resolution criteria

This market resolves YES if, before January 1, 2027, at least one publicly available service allows an individual or organization to transfer or assign part of an existing, unused AI usage allowance or credit budget to an unrelated open-source project or maintainer.

The recipient must be able to spend the donated allowance on AI inference, coding agents, automated review, CI, or similar AI services.

Qualifies

  • Transferring part of an existing subscription or organizational AI-credit allowance

  • Assigning unused credits to a verified open-source project

  • A supported donation pool funded by users' already-purchased or already-allocated AI credits

  • A service available to new donors and recipients, even if participation requires an application

Does not qualify

  • Donating money that is subsequently used to purchase credits

  • An AI provider giving away its own promotional credits

  • Free or discounted plans for maintainers paid entirely by the provider

  • Sharing account credentials, OAuth tokens, or raw API keys

  • Selling or reselling subscription capacity

  • Donating local GPU or CPU compute

  • Moving credits between employees or teams within the same organization

  • A private, one-off arrangement unavailable to other users

  • A product announcement without a usable donation mechanism

Historical projects that were already unavailable when this market was created do not qualify unless they relaunch before the deadline.

If no qualifying service is publicly documented by the deadline, this market resolves NO.
