At escape velocity it would take over 60 years to get there: Earth orbital speed 2pi AU/yr, escape velocity is a factor sqrt(2) higher, 542/(2 sqrt(2) pi) ~ 60. In reality you would slow down as you move away from the Sun. On the other hand the initial velocity could be higher and/or we could use solar sails to keep pushing (as originally proposed) rather than a ballistic trajectory. Still 30 years is a pretty short time frame.
