Will I be able to buy a 4090 for less than $2500 CAD by June 2024?

Current prices for RTX 4090 (24GB, GDDR6X) video cards shippable/in-stock in Toronto seem to consistently be somewhere between $2800 and $3400 CAD. This is consistent across amazon.ca, newegg.ca and bestbuy.ca, and canadacomputers.com (the last one has the current lowest price I've found at $2,665.67 CAD all-in, with in-store pickup)

Resolves YES if at any time before the end of June 2024 it is possible to buy between one and four new 4090 video cards for under $2500 CAD each, including taxes and shipping, somewhere in the GTA.

  • Discounted used/refurbished units don't count, but new units do. New, open box units from big name electronics stores count

  • A listing with a price below the threshold that shows "sold out" once clicked on, or that can't actually be picked up doesn't count.

  • In-store only offers on relevant video cards also count.

  • Lots of more than 4 cards don't count (so like, if you find a stack of 20 going for $30k CAD, that doesn't satisfy this criteria. Although if you find that, lets get a group buy started :p)

  • It doesn't matter what specific brand or cooling unit the card has, as long as it's an actually purchaseable RTX 4090.

  • I don't necessarily need to buy the cards, but I will be very skeptical of a posting on ebay/kijiji that someone just screenshots without actually purchasing, and that I don't get to before it closes.

Resolves NO on July 1st 2024 if prices remain above $2500 CAD the entire time.

Currently, there's a Warehouse Deals price of $2,395.59 all-in for a unit. If it weren't "Used - Acceptable", it would resolve this market "Yes". Time is running out though, hence the minor upwards bet.

predicts NO

Haven't hit the target yet, but the lowest price I've found is now $2678.09 all-in https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0BGV6LQYR (hence the YES bet)
