Why would anyone want to opt out of leagues? You can ignore it if it doesn’t interest you, and it gives you free mana (or prize points now?) if you do well.

I would like to see a version of this that predicts what will happen if there is an opt-in to leagues. I agree that relatively few users would use an opt-out. So this would continue what we see in a typical Bronze league - lots of inactive users, not much sense of competition or community. I think with an opt-in and a token entry fee we might reduce this ghost town effect.

It might help to run Bronze on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule, promoting people who are active in those leagues into a higher league that has other active users.
