Would you like the ability to opt out of leagues for a season?

Ex: You select a toggle for opt-out and at the start of the season, the people who have opted out are not included in the next season but put in a separate "opt out" league where they all have 0 score or something. Could be another way of implementing this, but would you like the ability to opt out of an entire league season?

I like the idea of being able to “freeze” my status in case I have to go offline for a substantial fraction of a month (instead of dropping depressingly back to beginner status which might make me aversive to starting up again). But how to make it practical?

I don't think I'd personally choose to opt out of leagues, but more options is always a good thing IMO.

@evergreenemily I'd not opt out immediately either but say I have some stuff to do and I'm hardly active in June/July. I don't wanna come back and grind up 2 more seasons to get back to where I was prior to inactivity. That drop will probably make me not wanna care about leagues. An opt out is like a checkpoint save

I think leagues is a vaguely annoying and unmotivating feature; I feel much more motivated when I think of it as me competing against Manifold users as a whole.
