I think there's a high chance of this happening regardless of what happens with the board.

The poaching has started people are being offered lots of money to leave and at the same time their confidence in the company is shaken. The combination is hard to resist.

Will you literally look at (start count) minus (end count)? I think your calculation should be (start count) minus (end count) plus (new employees hired during that period).
