Will I get a tenure track job in a couple of years?

I am a new postdoc in mathematics. I feel that I often lack even basic knowledge in fields even closely related to mine. This is primarily because I tend to "wing it" rather than sit down and do homework, memorize proofs, etc.

However, I tend to bristle with indignation when people point out my lack of "polish" in mathematics, and have solved problems that even my advisor couldn't. This I essentially did out of spite, and actually working hard for a change.

Am I good enough to get a tenure track job?

Most of the results are out, and I didn't get a tenure line job. I did get a permanent job of a different kind, but it is not tenure track. I am still waiting for a couple of holdouts, but I am resolving this answer as No.

Any news?

How exactly do I resolve? I will only know a couple of years later.

@fierydemon Change your close time to when you believe you would resolve this. Thank you.

@fierydemon Resolve, please? Thanks!

@fierydemon Can you please resolve?

It largely depends on the particular academic job market that you targeting. My understanding is that even in STEM fields, tenure track positions can be quite tough to obtain regardless of your research experience.
