I love my Fitbit Inspire, which does excellent sleep and activity tracking and only needs to be charged for half an hour or so every ten days. I would never swap it for something bulkier and more power-hungry.

According to the Quantified Scientists videos, the Apple watch consistently outperforms almost all other wearable health trackers, including watches and Oura rings.

If you are looking at getting into health tracking, and you're already into the apple ecosystem, then the apple watch is a choice that makes sense.

It is certainly worth considering whether you SHOULD get into health tracking. What metrics are you interested in, and how are you actually going to respond to them?

Do you expect to get a tracking device anyways? I have an Apple Watch and it pretty much does all I want it to do, but Oura tracks sleep better. Oura has a ludicrously expensive monthly fee, though.

Have you purchased any other Apple product before other than your iPhone?

bought Ṁ50 NO

Waste of money imo

$400-$800

imagine what you could buy by not spending it on a touchscreen watch, like idk a gym membership or home exercise equipment if you're still serious about fitness and stuff

Or hey, why not buy food. Food's nice

Or dvds, or videogames, or rent, or literally anything other than a $800 watch

You can buy a new Apple Watch for $250. That said, I use mine so much it probably would be worth $800

Do you have an iPhone?

Yes.

bought Ṁ25 YES

If you want to do fitness tracking, the Apple Watch integrates really well with iOS. You don’t need to get the newest one either. Picking up a second hand one from a few generations back will do you just fine.

bought Ṁ300 YES

I agree in this. I have a series 6 and see no good reason to upgrade. Seeing your workout trends, where you went for walks and runs, etc is great and already in series 6. It was very cool to visit CDMX and Cusco a few months ago and see altitudes impact on resting heart rate.

Don't do it, they're insanely expensive, get a cheaper alternative and donate the savings to Givewell
