I had a positive opinion of Musk until around 2020, and saw him as a mixed figure for another few years (pushing progress in rocketry but increasingly getting right-wing culture war brainrot). Probably saw him as net negative by 2023, and almost irredeemably bad when he dismantled PEPFAR/USAID.
However, I don't tend to hold grudges, and he turned against Trump yesterday and seems to be returning his focus to rockets/solar power and moderate politics. A year from now, will I have a mostly positive opinion of him?
I will not trade on this market.
Update 2025-06-06 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): In response to a question about forming a positive opinion if Elon Musk does not atone for the USAID issue but continues SpaceX progress, the creator specified that for a positive opinion:
More than "business as usual" with existing ventures (like SpaceX progress) would be required.
He would have to launch a major new positive project.
It would also help if he were less "crazy" on Twitter.

Not even close. I looked at some of his recent tweets and saw him (directly or via endorsement)
calling Hitler far left/socialist
saying actually African villages are happier than Beverly Hills, so they don’t need our aid
saying Derek Chauvin was innocent
hating on migrants/muslims
calling for rounding people up into forced labor camps
What a waste.
