The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) will publish their next annual Democracy Index report in early 2023. According to the EIU, the world has become more authoritarian every year since 2018 (EIU Democracy Index 2021, pg. 36).
Did the world become more authoritarian again in 2022, according to the EIU's Democracy Index to be published in early 2023?
If the world average democracy score in the report is the same or improved, this market resolves "no."

I'm surprised no one actually checked! The democracy index was 5.28 in 2021 and 5.29 in 2022, per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy_Index. That's technically an increase!
