Karmelo Anthony has been charged with first-degree murder. He is accused of stabbing a fellow student, Austin Metcalf, at a high school track meet in Texas.

Will Anthony be convicted of first degree murder, after any appeals have played out?

Conviction for lesser charges won't count. Resolution will depend only on the final legal result of any trials and appeals, i.e. a conviction won't yet count whist there is an unexhausted appeal option.

I lack knowledge about legal processes, but I hope I've made clear that the final outcome being a conviction for first-degree murder is all that matters for this market.

The market will stay open until all proceedings that can affect that outcome have concluded.

Karmelo Anthony has been found guilty of first-degree murder, however it sounds like the defence has 30 days to appeal. As mentioned in the description, we'll wait until those avenues are closed before resolving.

bought Ṁ200 YES

I think it will be most likely a yes because of this article about no black people in jury, from testimonies I find it hard to believe it'd be anything but.

@noney based on everything I've heard it would be shocking if it's anything but a guilty verdict.

@creator extend to trial date on june 1st, 2026?
