Haiti's last elections were in 2016 (presidential, parliamentary). Elections were planned for 2019 but were postponed. Then the President was assassinated and elections were delayed again.
The caretaker President, Ariel Henry, promised in 2022 that elections would be held in 2023. Negotiations between Henry and opponents have been ongoing through out 2023 about the rules for this election (see CRS report).
