Dubai is one of the most polluted global cities, with average monthly PM2.5 concentrations regularly exceeding the WHO guideline by more than 10 times.

The UAE National Air Quality Agenda 2031 aims to "Reach 35 μg/m3 annual average concentration of PM2.5 in residential areas by 2030", which is still 7 times higher than the WHO guideline. Although Dubai is currently above the threshold, the city was below in 2020 (32.6 μg/m³, due to the Covid pandemic?), so this question uses a higher standard of 25 μg/m³ (still 5 times the WHO guideline):

Will the annual average PM2.5 concentration in Dubai be below 25 μg/m³ in any year before 2030, according to IQAir?

I created this market in May 2024. Since then, IQAir published the 2024 data: 33.4 μg/m3. The 2025 data will probably be published around March 2026.

June 2025: https://tec.gov.ae/en/web/tec/w/-104

"Dubai’s Air Quality Strategy 2030 aims to achieve clean air standards on 90% of the days by 2030, thus helping enhance public health and environmental sustainability. The strategy provides for sector-specific targets and initiatives to reduce fine particulate matter (PM2.5) concentrations to 35 micrograms per cubic metre, while also addressing other key pollutants such as carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and ground-level ozone."

So their target is already reached? Although it depends on whether they mean "below 35 μg/m3 every day" (summer months are way above) or "below 35 μg/m3 on average" (already the case).
