Can't all nonprofit boards fire their CEOs? And "can only be dislodged with their consent" seems technically false (e.g., death, government), but is generally true in the sense that investors, staff, etc. technically can't kick out board members based on strategic disagreements, no matter how strong. So I'm also not seeing how "we just learned" this: it's been the whole discussion topic since Friday, how much power the OpenAI board really wields.
@Jacy Yeah, if I'm understanding this right, all it means is that the nonprofit will still be in control of the for-profit. So, not really new information, but in theory they could have changed that corporate/nonprofit structure.
